WRT’s clergy, professional staff and lay leaders continue to collaborate to revisit and reinvigorate all WRTeen programming and opportunities on our campus and beyond.
Welcome to the WRTeen Passport
Designed to maximize choice and flexibility of schedule, the WRTeen Passport is centered around leadership, learning and social action: We are striving to meet each teen where they are.
Monthly Offerings
- 11th Grade Gatherings with the Clergy
Gather together once a month on Wednesday evenings (7:00 – 8:15 pm), to explore the “Questions Still on the Table” about Jewish life and leadership, and spend the second half of the year engaged in conversations to both hug and wrestle with Israel.
- 12th Grade Gatherings with the Clergy
Gather together once a month on Wednesday evenings (7:00 – 8:15 pm), to continue to explore the concept of what it means to both hug and wrestle with Israel, preparing for our annual trips to Israel and/or the AIPAC conference. The second half of the year focuses on thinking about Jewish life beyond our WRT community, during a gap year, in college and wherever our path leads.
- The Table
Taught by the WRT Clergy team, this monthly gathering focuses on joyful and fearless Jewish learning. Dive into 10 Tremendous Texts from across the rabbinic literature for an opportunity to feed your body, mind and soul. Dinner is included. This program meets twice a month on Wednesdays, 7:00 – 8:15 pm. For an application to this track, please email JLLAdmin@wrtemple.org.
Opportunities
- Teen Travel
11th Grade travel includes opportunities for select local day trips and experiencing the annual AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) conference in Washington D.C. with the WRT community. 12th Grade travel includes opportunities for select local day trips and the annual 12th grade trip to Israel and/or the annual AIPAC conference in Washington D.C.
- Social Action
Periodic social action opportunities (mostly on Sundays) will allow for programming with our WRT community and community partners, such as J-Teen, BBYO and more. Programming will be both on and off the WRT campus.
- Expanded Madrichim Program
Our wonderful Madrichim support and inspire the children in the lower grades of the Multiple points of entry exist for this cohort of student leaders, from weekly teaching opportunities to monthly mentoring; as well as the chance to dream up new ways to share your talents with others. Madrichim also meet once a month to share and learn together!
- BBYO Partnership
Hudson Valley Region BBYO provides exciting opportunities for Jewish teens to connect with one another, make a difference, celebrate their Jewish heritage, and travel the world together. Teens gather every other week on our WRT campus to take part in teen-created and teen-led programming.
